Southeast Iowan Iceland!

We have ice! Lots of ICE! The ice is so heavy on the cedars and pines that they're nearly dragging the ground. The wind is picking up. I sure hope it doesn't break my trees! I must say, it is beautiful from inside the warm and cozy house.

OMG!!!!! We had NOTHING like that! But if you had seen the map, you would have seen that we were RIGHT on the line....actually we might have been slightly below it. It didn't start raining till around 6. Am was getting ready to go to work and it started to rain and pretty much freeze right away so he didn't go. Currently, as I write, it is 4:07 and our temp is 39.8 It has steadily rose all afternoon and all ice we had is gone! The wind, however, is a different story. Hope it doesn't blow your powerlines......

Wow...seems like December 1 is bad weather day. I had alot of ice also but it didn't look quite as thick as what you had. Its funny was a few miles can do. I didn't get out at all. I was going to go to the memorial service at Vigen's but luckily they cancelled. I probably couldn't have gotten there anyway. Just stayed in and enjoyed myself all day. Now we have to worry about Friday night. Heard it will be 40 in the daytime and Friday night it will rain or snow. Lets hope by then they change it. That is the night we go to see the Gaithers in St. Louis. I'm so excited. I could always get a motel in Quincy if it is bad when I get off the bus. I'm not missing this concert for any reason!!!!! It was 65 on Sat. and sun shining. We went to downtown Memphis and ate at a wonderful dry rub bbq place. 73* on Sunday and raining. Talked to Jay Koeber Sat. morning and he told us about the ice. We are sooooo glad to be south. Plan to stay here until next Thursday and then on to Jackson, MS for a few days before we go on into the gulf region.
Went to church with Jenny and her family and had Sunday dinner with them
I'm working on another blog entry. See ya there.

You know Madam Cardoza! Take a look at the second name on my list of "favorites". That would be David and Sharon. Madam Cardoza is now somewhat of a "gypsy" traveling the country at leisure in their RV living the dream.
