October Update

Harvest time! I'm not up on how the yields are on the row crops, but we certainly have a bumper crop of hickory nuts and walnuts!  Even though we had an extended dry spell, there is a harvest.  I can't help thinking of the verses from Habakkuk.

"Though the fig tree should not blossom, and there be no fruit on the vines, though the yield of the olive  should fail, and the fields produce no food, though the flock should be cut off from the fold, and there be no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will exult in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my  strength, and He has made my feet like hinds' feet, and makes me walk on my high places." Hab. 3:17-19
I'm not a scholar, and the verse within the context has much more to it than this, but to me, my personal paraphrase is that regardless of how bad things seem to be, I will trust God and continually rejoice in His goodness and faithfulness.

On that note, I invite anyone reading this to join me for an uplifting time of joyful praise and worship with the Dysart Family.  They're going to be in concert at New Testament Christian Church on Nov. 22.  7:00 PM
I know of two other opportunities to hear Southern Gospel groups in the area.  Brian Free and Assurance will be in Augusta IL on November 8, 2013.  The Lester's will be in Keokuk on November 9, 2013.
