Two Boys Sentenced to Hard Labor!

Since Zach and Wyatt didn't want to go shopping today, they were sentenced to hard labor on the rock pile! Actually, they were asking for work to do, and hoping it would pay. I'd been thinking for some time about moving my pile of geodes to a new location, so figured I might as well take advantage of the help! It didn't take as long as I thought. I really thought I had more rocks. We made a pretty good team, and after the job was done, they got to play for a while. It's always more fun when Popo is here to play. He thinks of really fun things to do. For example, pulling the boys' bikes behind the four wheeler. You might not see it in the picture, but the bikes are tied onto the back of the wheeler! Certainly not something I would do with the boys! But, they were loving it. No wonder they always ask if Popo is going to be home when they come over. He is lots of fun!
Moving all those rocks was a pretty good job for the boys, and each earned two dollars. Zach took his in paper. Wyatt prefers coins, so he got two dollars worth of nickels. Next time they come over, they're going to bring their money, and I'm going to sell them "stuff". They love to play store, and I get my money back! What a deal!
This is a picture of one of the new places we piled the rocks, as well as a piece of one of the broken geodes. Below are few more of my beautiful lilies! I love those lily things, because they are the only flowers I've not yet killed!

The best moment of Zach's day might have been when Popo gave him permission to move the four wheeler all by himself. He didn't ride far or fast, but he did it all alone. I didn't think he could ride it by himself, but he proved me wrong again.

$2 ?????? Good golly - that's better than sending your work to the foreign lands, isn't it??? LOL
And getting your money by selling them "stuff"???? Wow.......I'm astonished!!!! :) Cool idea really.

Looks like quite a pile of geodes if you ask me!

Happy 4th of July. We're just laying low right now but might venture to Quncy later.....

Speaking of geodes....I brought a big one in the house last week and layed it by the door. I have a big raccoon that comes up to eat with the cats. I opened the door and hit him right on the back and he ran off. Hadn't seen him for several days until a couple nights ago and he was hanging on the window sill by my computer after dark just ready to climb the screen. Good grief !!! I need to learn to shoot a gun.

LOL!!! I can visualize you hitting that raccoon with a big geode! Where's your DOG? We had raccoons into everything until we got a dog. No problem any more!
That child labor stuff probably won't work when the boys get a little older. Charlie's right, they won't work that cheap then, but as long as I have stuff they want, maybe I can still get my money back! LOL!

Mom's dog died this past winter, remember? She just has not gotten a "replacement"...but I'm thinking she needs to!! She's notorious for getting "varmints" though. As a kid, I watched her club the dickens out of the possums that came to the back to eat the cat food. She used my yellow louisville slugger every time!!!! She was a better clubber than my dad was at shotting! LOL

I remember now! How insensitive of me! We lost two of ours over the winter, too, so I certainly should have remembered that.
I've heard of "going out clubbing" and always thought that it was the equivalent of "bar hopping", but now I have a whole new meaning! LOL!!!
Now, when I hear of someone who's "out clubbing", I'm going to think they're out on the porch with a yellow baseball bat beating varmints!

LOL LOL LOL I have actually gone "bar hopping" but never "out clubbing" and never really heard the expression before! LOL
